Port of Singapore Authority purchased twelve cranes from ZPMC. The cranes have a mono-girder trapezoidal boom and machinery-on-trolley. Port of Long Beach Crane Procurement
Port of Long Beach purchased fourteen new ZPMC cranes for its Pier T facility. The port retained McKay International Engineers and Liftech Consultants Inc. to provide full procurement services. Liftech co-authored the technical specifications, reviewed the structural design, and helped resolve difficult structural design issues. Liftech also audited the structural fabrication and the seafastening installation in China.
Hitachi Crane Modification and Relocation
Horizon Lines and Matson Navigation purchased three Hitachi cranes located in Los Angeles, California, for relocation to Guam. The cranes were upgraded and strengthened for typhoon winds. Upgrades included a lift height increase of 8 feet, new drives and controls, diesel power, and new tie-downs.
YICT Crane Structural Maintenance
YICT operates three Mitsubishi, three ZPMC, seven Mitsui, and two Hyundai cranes at their Yantian terminal facility. The cranes had not previously been inspected using NDT techniques such as MT or UT. Liftech performed a useful life assessment, developed a comprehensive structural maintenance program, and prepared NDT inspection manuals.
Maryland Port Seagirt Marine Terminal Crane Structural Maintenance
MPA operates seven similar Sumitomo dockside cranes at Seagirt Marine Terminal. The cranes had not previously been inspected using NDT techniques such as MT or UT. Liftech performed a structural condition survey and developed structural inspection manuals.
DP World Vancouver Crane Procurement
Liftech provided engineering services to procure two dockside cranes from ZPMC. Services included a wheel load study, technical specifications review, structural design of the cranes, and crane design and fabrication audit. Liftech also reviewed the seafastening design, which included an A-frame collapsing scheme.
Port of Seattle Crane Procurement
Liftech provided structural engineering services to procure three dockside cranes for the Port of Seattle. Liftech reviewed technical specification requirements, audited structural design and fabrication, and assisted with the structural design of the cranes. BCT Low Profile Crane Relocation
Barranquilla Container Terminal S.A. (BCT), Colombia, acting as agent for Sociedad Portuaria del Norte S.A., purchased three Kocks ship-to-shore cranes from the Port of Miami. BCT retained Global Rigging and Transport, LLC (GRT) to relocate the cranes.
LBCT Crane Procurement—Dual Trolley, Tandem Hoist Cranes
LBCT purchased up to 14 STS cranes from ZPMC. Liftech provided crane technical specifications, structural design assistance and design review, and limited transportation and fabrication review services. We also reviewed the primary and secondary trolleys.
OMG Italy STS Crane Design Review
La Spezia Container Terminal in Italy ordered two ship-to-shore cranes from Officine Meccaniche Galileo SRL (OMG) with 60 tonne capacity and the ability to service 23-wide vessels. The existing wharf with 18 m rail gage has limited wheel load capacity, and crane stability is a challenge due to the large outreach and narrow gage. OMG retained Liftech to provide conceptual structural design services for the new cranes.
