A majestic sight greeted Port Everglades early Tuesday morning, November 17, when the ship carrying three giant ‘next generation’ low profile ship-to-shore cranes arrived at the Port’s dock to support the largest expansion project in the Port’s history.
As the Port’s consulting engineers working on the project since 2013, Liftech Consultants Inc. and subconsultant McKay International Engineers developed the specifications and conceptual design of the cranes, participated in the design with crane supplier ZPMC, and audited the crane manufacturing quality. Liftech’s team, including Liftech Shanghai personnel and multiple subconsultants, is proud to be part of the project that also includes modification of seven existing cranes to serve larger vessels and extensive wharf expansion to support the larger, heavier cranes.
