Sue Jordan, wife of Liftech founder Mike Jordan, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, four months after Mike.
Sue was a lifelong educator. She was an elementary school teacher in Berkeley before she stopped teaching when she had her first child. She continued to teach as a volunteer with local Oakland schools and as a docent at Oakland Museum of California later in life. She also enlightened others by sharing her wisdom and her kindness.
When Mike started Michael A. Jordan and Associates in 1964, Sue assisted Mike with bookkeeping. As the business grew into JWD, and eventually Liftech Consultants Incorporated, Sue assisted Mike and his business from time to time with administration and property management. Their family grew as well with the births of their second child and third child.
Sue minored in Asian Art and History at the University of California at Berkeley and had a great appreciation of the Eastern culture and philosophy. Their shared appreciation of diverse cultures and philosophies influenced how Mike would see people and the world. That pursuit of excellence carried over to his success in establishing and growing Liftech in the industry. In honor of their memory, we will continue to serve our clients with excellent work, innovation, and industry advancement.
Sue and Mike are survived by their three sons Ken, Bill, and Alex and their families.
